Vivo has unveiled its X200 series this year, including the intriguing X200 Pro mini, which appears to be limited to the Chinese market. Fortunately for international users, the standard vivo X200 has made its way to us and is now available for review.
The X200 maintains a size comparable to the X200 Pro and is powered by similar hardware. While the design closely mirrors its more advanced counterpart, the X200 features a slightly smaller 6.67-inch display, yet it promises the same resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ certification as seen in the X200 Pro.
Under the hood, the X200 utilizes the Dimensity 9400 SoC, and in global markets, it comes in two configurations: one with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage and another boasting 16GB of RAM with 512 GB of storage.
Camera specifications stand out as the primary difference between the X200 and the X200 Pro. While both models share the same ultrawide camera, the main rear camera on the X200 is equipped with a slightly smaller 50MP 1/1.56" sensor. Additionally, the periscope telephoto lens features a 3x 50MP f/2.6 setup compared to the more advanced 3.7x 200MP f/2.7 found on the Pro version.
While we await the full review, preliminary expectations suggest robust all-around camera performance, though the X200's prowess in comparison to the X200 Pro will be further evaluated during our testing.
In terms of battery performance, the X200 is outfitted with a 5,800 mAh Si/C battery supporting 90W wired charging. While it does allow for reverse wired charging, it lacks the wireless charging capability present in the X200 Pro.
Overall, the vanilla vivo X200 appears to present itself as a well-rounded option that could deliver good value within the range. A comprehensive review will be essential to determine how it performs against both its Pro sibling and competing devices in the market.
