Realme recently hosted an exclusive preview event in Denmark, unveiling the innovative features of the Realme 14 Pro+. This sneak peek highlighted several impressive design elements and technological advancements, though specific details about the Pro+ and its sibling, the Realme 14 Pro, are yet to be fully disclosed.
In partnership with Copenhagen's Valeur Designers, Realme has introduced a unique color-changing exterior unlike anything seen before. While previous models like the Realme 9 Pro+ altered their colors in sunlight, the Realme 14 Pro+ reacts to cooler temperatures—perfectly suited for the winter season.
The back of the device typically presents a pearl white finish, but when temperatures dip below 16°C (61°F), striking blue swirls appear. As the temperature rises, the phone returns to its off-white state. This remarkable feature, made possible by a first-of-its-kind material, is considered a "bonus" by Realme and will last for about 12 months with standard usage, though it will fade over time due to sun exposure.
A demonstration showcased the color-changing effect in an ice bath, but even chilly winter air will suffice to impress friends with this innovative technology. Notably, Realme incorporated actual seashell pearl powder into the design, mixed with microcapsules containing special pigments, resulting in a one-of-a-kind pattern on every unit.
The aquatic theme extends to the camera capabilities, offering an underwater photo mode that utilizes volume keys for snapping pics underwater, supported by an IP68 rating for water resistance and IP69 for hot water jets. While details on the camera are limited, it is confirmed that the Realme 14 Pro+ will include a unique periscope camera.
Noteworthy is the "MagicGlow" feature, comprised of three LED flash modules arranged in a circular formation to create evenly lit night portraits. This advanced lighting design not only enhances the quality of portraits but also allows the camera to adjust color temperatures dynamically.
The display of the Realme 14 Pro+ is another standout feature, showcasing a quad-curved screen that minimizes the bezel, providing an almost borderless visual experience. While details on the display specifications remain under wraps, the initial impressions indicate high quality.
The device's premium finish is enhanced by a matte texture that obscures fingerprints, while a gold-hued frame elegantly complements the overall aesthetic.
Under the hood, the Realme 14 Pro+ runs on the new Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, featuring a more efficient architecture and improved performance across CPU, GPU, and AI tasks compared to its predecessor. With a 40% boost in GPU performance and a 20% increase in CPU performance, the phone is poised to offer an exceptional user experience while conserving battery life.
