Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra and S27 Pro Batteries Appear in New Safety Korea Certification

Samsung’s next flagship lineup is beginning to come into focus, and new certification documents may reveal what’s powering the upcoming devices. Battery packs linked to the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra have surfaced in the Safety Korea database, complete with photos that offer an early look at the components expected inside the new series.

The certification listings show battery models numbered EB-BS957CBY and EB-BS958DBY. Those model numbers align with the SM-S957 and SM-S958 identifiers believed to belong to the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra, respectively. The filings also indicate that both batteries are manufactured by Zhuhai CosMX Power in China, though the capacity details printed on the units are not clearly readable in the images.

That missing information, however, may already be known thanks to earlier leaks and certifications. Previous reports and 3C filings in China suggest the Galaxy S27 Ultra will use a rated 5,534 mAh battery, which could be listed as approximately 5,700 mAh in typical capacity. The Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to feature a rated 5,087 mAh cell, likely marketed around 5,200 mAh. Both phones are also said to support 60W wired charging, the same speed offered by the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

If those capacity figures hold true, the Galaxy S27 Ultra would represent a noticeable upgrade over its predecessor, which used a 5,000 mAh battery. Even the Galaxy S27 Pro would offer a smaller but meaningful increase. Samsung has reportedly experimented with much larger battery designs during development, including a 7,000 mAh prototype, but ultimately chose a more compact solution to retain key features such as S Pen support. The exact launch date for the Galaxy S27 series remains unclear, though recent rumors point to a possible return to Samsung’s usual January or February release window.
