Straight Talk Boosts Unlimited Plans With Faster 5G, More Hotspot Data, and No Price Increase

Straight Talk is giving its unlimited customers a major upgrade without charging them more. The Verizon-owned prepaid brand has refreshed its Silver Unlimited, Gold Unlimited, and Platinum Unlimited plans with faster 5G Ultra Wideband access, larger hotspot allowances, broader international benefits, and a discounted Home Internet bundle. Despite the added value, monthly prices remain unchanged, with the entry-level Silver Unlimited plan still costing $45 per month — a rate Straight Talk says has stayed the same since 2009.

The revamped Silver Unlimited plan now includes access to Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband network, making it more appealing for budget-conscious users who want faster speeds. Straight Talk has also increased the plan’s hotspot data from 10GB to 15GB, a 50% boost. In addition, subscribers get unlimited international talk and text to Canada, Mexico, India, and China.

Moving up the lineup, Gold Unlimited continues at $55 per month and now comes with 5G Ultra Wideband access as well. Its hotspot allowance has jumped from 30GB to 50GB, representing a 66% increase. The plan also expands international connectivity with unlimited talk and text to more than 200 destinations, along with 10GB of roaming data for use in Canada and Mexico. Existing perks such as a Walmart+ membership and 100GB of cloud storage remain included.

At the top of the lineup is Platinum Unlimited, priced at $65 per month. It now features 5G Ultra Wideband access, unlimited premium data, and an unlimited hotspot allowance. International benefits include unlimited talk and text to over 200 destinations, plus 10GB of roaming data in Canada and Mexico. The plan also includes a Walmart+ membership, 500GB of cloud storage, and tablet service for $10 per month at no additional cost when customers bring their own compatible tablet.

Straight Talk is also using the update to promote its Home Internet service. Customers on any of the three unlimited plans can add Straight Talk Home Internet for $35 per month, down from the regular $45 monthly price. According to the company, the enhancements are meant to reinforce its standing as a value-focused choice for wireless customers. Straight Talk’s plans are available through Walmart and online.
