Motorola Razr Flex prototype appears on Geekbench with unexpected Snapdragon chip

Motorola’s long-rumored wide-format foldable has surfaced in a new benchmark listing, giving fans an early look at what may become one of the company’s most intriguing devices. The Geekbench result not only reinforces the reported Razr Flex branding, but also points to a high-end internals package ahead of the phone’s rumored debut.

According to the listing, a prototype believed to be the Motorola Razr Flex was tested with Geekbench 6.7.1. While benchmark submissions can sometimes be altered or misleading, the entry adds weight to previous leaks that the device will carry the Razr Flex name rather than a more traditional Motorola moniker.

The biggest surprise is the reported chipset. The prototype appears to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 platform, diverging from earlier speculation that Motorola would opt for the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The tested unit was paired with 12GB of RAM, though final retail versions could arrive with additional memory configurations. The listing also indicates the phone will ship with Android 17.

The benchmark screenshot suggests the device may be identified internally as Razr Flex 27 or Razr Flex 2027, matching Motorola’s North American naming pattern. That detail could hint that Motorola views the Razr Flex as more than a single experimental release and may already be considering future iterations.

In terms of performance, the prototype reportedly recorded a single-core score of 2,669 and a multi-core score of 8,837. These figures should be treated cautiously, since they come from pre-production hardware and Geekbench 6 results are not directly comparable to Geekbench 7 scores.

Prior rumors have described the Razr Flex as a large foldable with a 6.92-inch inner OLED display at 2364x1728 resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. The cover screen is said to be a 4.97-inch OLED panel with 1140x1736 resolution. Camera hardware may include a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and two 32MP selfie cameras. A 5,000 mAh battery with 25W wireless charging is also rumored. The device reportedly weighs 215 grams and could come in Pantone Coriander and Pantone Dark Botanical Garden color options, with a possible launch in mid-December.
