ZTE is back with another budget-focused nubia handset, but the name may cause some confusion. Following the original nubia A76 4G, the company has quietly rolled out a new version carrying the same branding. Despite sharing the name, this latest model brings a few meaningful upgrades, including a larger display and quicker charging.
The new ZTE nubia A76 4G is equipped with a 6.75-inch display. It keeps the 720p+ resolution, but improves the refresh rate from 60Hz to 90Hz. The panel is also rated for up to 500 nits of brightness, which should help with everyday visibility.
Design-wise, nubia says the phone takes inspiration from flagship devices, likely referring to its wide rear camera island. The styling looks very similar to the ZTE Blade A76 4G, a model that appears to share nearly identical specifications with this new nubia handset.
For photography, the device is marketed with a 50MP “triple camera” setup. However, details about the two additional rear sensors have not been revealed.
Under the hood, the phone runs on an unnamed octa-core processor clocked at up to 1.8GHz. ZTE also promotes 4.5G connectivity, although it has not specified the exact network standard or provided official speed figures. As the name suggests, this is a 4G device, so users looking for 5G support will need to consider other options.
Battery life remains centered around a 5,000mAh cell, but charging gets a noticeable boost. The new nubia A76 4G supports 22.5W charging, a clear improvement over the 10W charging offered by the earlier A76 model. The phone also earned an A rating in the European Union’s energy efficiency testing.
ZTE nubia A76 4G is available in Carbon Black, Polar Grey, and Sand Gold.
The handset is offered in Carbon Black, Polar Grey, and Sand Gold. Availability details have not been announced yet, but the closely related Blade A76 4G is currently listed for around €150 on Amazon, giving a rough idea of its expected price range.
