vivo Buds Ultra Launch in Europe With Dual Drivers and 60dB ANC

vivo has introduced the vivo Buds Ultra in Europe, bringing a premium true wireless earbud offering to users who want stronger noise cancellation, high-resolution audio support, and a more advanced driver design. The new model appears to be the European version of the TWS 5 Pro launched earlier in China, now arriving with a refreshed name and a feature set aimed at the upper end of the wireless earbud market.

At the core of the vivo Buds Ultra is a hybrid acoustic system that combines a balanced armature unit co-developed with Knowles and a dual-fold dynamic driver created by vivo. The balanced armature is positioned in the center of the dynamic driver’s diaphragm, forming a coaxial layout designed to keep bass and treble acoustically aligned. vivo also uses a dedicated acoustic tube to help separate high and low frequencies, resulting in a more balanced sound signature. The earbuds support a wide 16Hz to 60kHz frequency response, include an independent Hi-Fi DAC chip with 113dB dynamic range, and feature LDAC support at up to 990kbps.

Noise cancellation is one of the headline features. The Buds Ultra use four microphones, including two digital and two analog units, along with vivo’s Intelligent Noise Cancellation 2.0 system. The company claims up to 60dB of noise reduction, with an average of 28dB, across a 5,500Hz bandwidth. There is also an Adaptive mode that automatically adjusts between noise cancellation and transparency, while specialized settings are available for environments such as airplanes, subways, and buses. For calls, the earbuds combine a bone conduction sensor with three microphones, and vivo says they can reduce up to 99% of wind noise.

Battery life is rated at up to 11 hours per charge with ANC turned off, while the charging case extends total usage to 50 hours. Fast charging is supported, with five minutes of charging providing around two hours of music playback. The case also supports wireless charging. The earbuds carry an IP54 rating for dust and sweat resistance, although the case itself is not rated.

Additional features include multipoint connectivity for up to three devices, pressure-sensitive controls with press and swipe gestures, and spatial audio with Theater, Concert Hall, Studio, and Concert modes. Users also get a 10-band equalizer, personalized hearing profiles, remote camera control, and a find-my-earbuds feature. Some functions are built into compatible vivo smartphones, while other Android devices require the vEarphones app.

The vivo Buds Ultra are available in Glacier White and Cosmic Black with a regular price of €199. However, they are currently being offered at a discounted price of €169 through vivo’s official online stores in Spain and Portugal.
