Tesla’s third-quarter report for 2026 delivered a mixed message: the financial results were largely steady but showed pressure on profitability, while the company pointed to major operational and technological milestones that could shape its next phase of growth.

During the quarter, Tesla built 457,387 Model Y and Model 3 vehicles and delivered 478,237 of them. When including its other vehicles, total production reached 464,391 units, while total shipments came to 486,532. Revenue held flat year over year at $28.05 billion, but GAAP operating income fell sharply to $787 million, a 43% decline from the same period last year. Tesla also reported $1.53 billion in free cash flow and $4.73 billion in capital expenditures.

Beyond the quarterly figures, Tesla emphasized several notable achievements. The Cybercab officially entered Robotaxi service in Austin on September 3, and the company said the program has now accumulated nearly 2 million unsupervised miles. In Europe, FSD (Supervised) received approval in nine countries and is moving toward broader use, with more than 100,000 European customers having driven over 160 million kilometers using the software, now marketed locally as Tesla Assisted Driving. Tesla also confirmed that the Semi has entered volume production in Nevada, the Roadster has arrived, and its Texas Megafactory has begun operations.
