Introduction
The Poco brand continues to expand its smartphone lineup, with a new model on the horizon. The upcoming Poco X8s has recently received certification from Singapore's IMDA, indicating that its launch is drawing near. This article provides insights into the latest certification and the anticipated features of the Poco X8s.
Poco has already introduced four devices under its X8 series this year: the X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max in March, followed by the standard X8 and X8 Power in early September. The company is now poised to unveil a fifth model, as evidenced by the approval of a device with the model number 2609CPC5FG by Singapore's IMDA.
The IMDA listing identifies Poco as the brand and Xiaomi Electronics as the applicant, categorizing the device as a 5G mobile phone equipped with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and NFC capabilities. Unfortunately, further details about the device remain sparse. The same model number has previously appeared in the European EEC and IECEE databases, which offered little additional information.
Previous reports suggest that the device will be marketed as the Poco X8s and is anticipated to be available in Europe, Turkey, Russia, and other global markets, but notably not India. A Chinese variant, known by the model number M583CF, is expected to be sold under the Redmi brand. The "2609" section of the model number suggests a release timeline extending into September 2026, indicating the phone may be somewhat delayed.
Information regarding the hardware of the X8s is still limited. It is rumored to feature a 50MP main camera with zoom capabilities of 0.6x, 1x, and 2.5x within the camera interface. It remains unclear whether the 2.5x zoom is derived from a separate telephoto lens or if it is simply a crop of the main sensor. A Geekbench performance test conducted on the same model indicated that it is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset alongside 12GB of RAM, running Android 16. If these specifications hold true, the X8s is expected to outperform its predecessor, the X8, which is equipped with a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset.
As of now, none of this information has been officially confirmed by Poco, and the company has not announced any details regarding pricing or launch dates. However, with an increasing number of certifications in its wake, the Poco X8s' official unveiling should be just around the corner.
