Concerns continue to grow for iPhone 18 Pro Max users experiencing connectivity issues while using the AT&T network, despite Apple's recent update to iOS 27.0.1. Launched shortly after the initial iOS 27 release, this update was intended to resolve various issues, including a significant problem that caused the latest iPhone models to reboot after failed Face ID attempts. However, it seems that many users are still facing critical connectivity problems.

In response to these issues, AT&T has begun sending automated messages to its customers, urging them to update to iOS 27.0.1, claiming it resolves the connectivity problems that prevent iPhone 18 Pro Max users from making calls or sending texts, including emergency communication to 911.
Despite these assurances from AT&T, a number of early reports from users suggest that the update has not resolved the connectivity issues. Users have reported being unable to access the network entirely, with their devices displaying “SOS” in the status bar. This problem appears to not affect all iPhone 18 Pro Max models on AT&T but is significant enough to warrant concern.
One distinguishing factor may lie in the differing hardware between the iPhone models; the iPhone 18 Pro Max is equipped with a Qualcomm modem, while the iPhone 18 Pro utilizes Apple's own C2 modem. Both consumers and industry observers are hopeful that AT&T and Apple can quickly collaborate to resolve these connectivity challenges.
