In a notable shift within its supply chain strategy, Apple has reportedly requested certain suppliers to decrease the production of components for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. This adjustment comes in response to a perceived dip in market demand amidst rising memory costs.
According to a recent report from insiders, Apple has trimmed component orders by as much as 15% for the month of October. This reduction highlights the challenges facing Apple's latest flagship models, although there are contradicting reports regarding their performance in specific markets, such as China, where the iPhone 18 Pro series is said to be doing better than its predecessors.
Interestingly, despite lower order volumes, the financial impact on Apple may be mitigated. The new iPhone 18 Pro models feature higher price points—10% more than last year's offerings. The iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max begins at $1,299.
