Amazon Launches New Alexa Tablets, Enhanced Functionality and Access to Google Play Store

Amazon has taken a significant leap forward in the tablet market with the introduction of its new lineup of Amazon Alexa Tablets. These tablets are not only equipped with advanced technology but also come fully integrated with the Google Play Store, marking a substantial upgrade from the previous Fire tablet series. With an emphasis on AI and versatility, the latest models aim to cater to users looking for a powerful device that goes beyond basic functionality.

The Amazon Alexa Tablet 12 Pro stands out as the most powerful option in this new range, featuring a CPU that is three times faster and a GPU that outpaces its predecessor by nine times, thanks to the Dimensity 8400 chipset. Measuring 12 inches, this tablet offers a 3:2 aspect ratio that is ideal for web browsing, movie watching, and reading.

The display introduces an innovative Nanomatte option, which reduces glare and improves usability in varied lighting conditions. Users can expect an impressive battery life of up to 16 hours, along with a specialized reading mode that can extend usage to 20 hours while minimizing blue light emissions. The device comes in two versions: the standard model priced at $500 and a Nanomatte variant starting at $550, with options for greater memory. The Pro model is crafted with an aluminum unibody and supports connectivity through a USB-C port, allowing efficient data transfer and video output.

The Alexa Tablet 12 Pro is also compatible with the new Amazon Alexa Tablet Pro Keyboard, enhancing productivity with multiple app management capabilities, priced at $150. Additionally, it supports the Amazon Alexa Tablet Pro Pen, a high-performance stylus that allows for precise input and comes at $90.

Other Models: Alexa Tablet 11 and Alexa Tablet 8

The Amazon Alexa Tablet 11 offers an 11-inch display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and runs on the MediaTek MT8189 chipset. Although less powerful than the Pro, it features 8GB of RAM and has a starting price of $330. It boasts up to 15 hours of battery life and supports USB-C 2.0 connectivity.

Finally, the Amazon Alexa Tablet 8 is designed for portability, featuring an 8.7-inch display with lower resolution but comes at a competitive price starting from $230. It offers adequate performance for casual use and a battery life of 14 hours.

All three tablets are equipped with Alexa+, which enhances user interaction by eliminating the need to repeatedly invoke the assistant. They are set to be available in the US starting October 14, with a UK release on October 19. Additionally, the devices will feature ad-supported options, which can be removed for a fee.

Conclusion

With these new Alexa tablets, Amazon has successfully blended cutting-edge technology, AI capabilities, and access to a vast application ecosystem, thereby appealing to a broader range of users and setting a new standard in the tablet market.
