iQOO has officially launched its latest flagship smartphone, the iQOO 16, in China. This powerful device boasts cutting-edge features and specifications that are set to elevate users' mobile experience. With impressive display capabilities, robust performance, and extraordinary battery life, the iQOO 16 aims to cater to both tech enthusiasts and everyday users alike.
The iQOO 16 features a stunning 6.85-inch Samsung AMOLED M16 display, offering a resolution of 1440x3168 pixels, a 19.8:9 aspect ratio, and an astonishing 165Hz refresh rate. The display can achieve an incredible peak brightness of up to 10,000 nits in localized settings, ensuring vibrant visuals even in bright environments, while the full-screen peak brightness reaches an impressive 2,800 nits.

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, the iQOO 16 is equipped with LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage options. The smartphone features a triple rear camera setup that includes a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50MP ultrawide camera with autofocus, and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera offering 3x optical zoom, 6x "lossless" zoom, and up to 100x digital zoom. For selfies, there’s a 32MP fixed-focus front camera.

In terms of battery life, the device is powered by an 8,400 mAh battery with ultra-fast charging capabilities, supporting both 100W wired and 40W wireless charging. The iQOO 16 runs Android 17 with vivo's OriginOS 7 on top, enhancing user experience with its customizable interface. It also holds IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance while featuring an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner. The phone is available in three stylish color finishes: "Chasing Light," "Racetrack," and "Legend," with varying thickness and weights ranging from 8.3 mm to 8.55 mm and 222.5g to 229.8g, respectively.
The iQOO 16 offers four configurations for RAM and storage: 12GB/256GB priced at CNY 5,999 (around $894), 12GB/512GB for CNY 6,799 ($1,013), 16GB/512GB at CNY 7,499 ($1,117), and the top-tier 16GB/1TB variant for CNY 8,499 ($1,266). While a global release date is yet to be announced, it's expected that the device will eventually make its way outside of China, mirroring the launch patterns of its predecessors.
