Lava has unveiled its latest budget-friendly smartphone, the Shark 2 Pro, offering cutting-edge 5G connectivity along with a robust performance and a long-lasting battery. This new device promises to deliver an exceptional experience for users seeking a reliable and affordable smartphone.
The Lava Shark 2 Pro features a large 6.75” IPS LCD display, boasting a resolution of 720 x 1,600px and a high refresh rate of 120Hz, ensuring smooth visuals and a pleasant viewing experience. The screen gets bright with up to 550 nits in HBM mode and hosts an 8MP selfie camera nestled within a notch. On the back, the phone showcases a 50MP “AI camera,” which is capable of recording videos at 1080p @ 30fps. Notably, the phone does not include additional lenses beyond the primary wide camera. Users can expect secure and quick access thanks to the side-mounted fingerprint reader and face unlock feature.

Under the hood, the Shark 2 Pro is powered by the Unisoc T8200 chipset, which integrates a 5G modem and utilizes a 6nm manufacturing process. This octa-core CPU incorporates 2 Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.3GHz and 6 Cortex-A55 cores at 2.1GHz, paired with a Mali-G57 MP2 GPU. The device comes standard with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded via a hybrid dual-SIM setup – allowing for microSD cards up to 1TB if one SIM slot is used for storage expansion. It shares the same chipset with the previously launched Lava 2.
The Shark 2 Pro is shipped with Android 16 and is slated to receive an update to Android 17, marking the final OS version supported. Users can expect two years of security updates, and Lava assures a “bloat-free” software experience, though the device comes equipped with the Vayu AI assistant.

The Lava Shark 2 Pro supports dual-SIM 5G functionality, along with Wi-Fi 5 (ac) and Bluetooth 5.4 for seamless connectivity.

The Lava Shark 2 Pro will soon hit retail shelves, both online and offline, priced at ₹16,700 ($175), slightly more than the Virat model, which retails for around ₹16,000 (Flipkart).
