Samsung has begun the stateside rollout of its much-anticipated One UI 9 update for the Galaxy S26 series, which includes the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. This latest update, based on Android 17, enhances user experience with a variety of innovative features and improvements. After an initial launch in South Korea, U.S. users can now benefit from these upgrades, starting with T-Mobile customers.
The One UI 9 update is being delivered over-the-air as a substantial 4.1GB download. Updating will provide users with enhanced functionalities and the latest software features.
After installation, devices will run on Android 17 and will show a new build number ending in "BZID." With T-Mobile taking the lead, it is expected that other carriers like AT&T and Verizon will soon follow with their versions of One UI 9.
One UI 9 introduces a host of exciting features. One standout addition is My FanCam, which allows users to record wide shots and then track specific individuals in the video using Samsung's Galaxy AI technology, creating a more engaging subject-focused video experience. Additional features include generative AI for creating and editing Now Brief cards, a streamlined Now Nudge process, and enhancements to tools such as Creative Studio, Interpreter, Document Scan, and Voice Recorder. Users will also find a new Warranty and Care section in the Settings menu.
