Arc X1 Handheld Console Teams Up with Qualcomm to Revolutionize Indian Gaming

Source: Date:

A groundbreaking partnership between Arc, a burgeoning Indian tech company, and Qualcomm is set to redefine the handheld gaming landscape in India. The Arc X1, an Android-powered gaming console, aims to address the unique needs and preferences of the Indian gaming community, moving away from the conventional models adapted for Western or Chinese markets.

With the integration of Qualcomm's advanced compute, AI, and wireless connectivity solutions, the X1 is poised to leverage cutting-edge technology. While specific details about the chip selection remain under wraps—whether they will opt for a popular Snapdragon series or the dedicated Snapdragon G chips—fans of the device are eagerly anticipating further announcements from the Arc team.

STILL BUZZING. STILL BUILDING. ARC x @qualcomm_in is officially a thing, and honestly, we’re still taking it in. What started as a dream to build something meaningful for Indian gamers is now getting bigger than we imagined. We’re incredibly proud of this one. pic.twitter.com/TncmOiiWZ5

In addition, the developers are creating their own customized version of Android called “OwlOS,” designed specifically for the console. This system will focus on providing a controller-first experience, optimal performance efficiencies, and will seemingly support games from various platforms, extending beyond mobile gaming.

Gamers interested in being part of this innovative journey can sign up on playarc.gg to join the waitlist. This initiative will allow selected individuals to engage in the development process and potentially test the Arc X1 ahead of its official release. The testing is structured in two phases, with the second phase having commenced on August 1.

“We believe the future of gaming hardware lies in efficient performance, not just raw power. For markets like India, performance-per-watt is key to delivering portability, battery life, and accessibility. Qualcomm Technologies’ leadership in power-efficient computing makes them the ideal technology partner for ARC. Together, we’re building a new generation of gaming hardware that brings immersive gaming experiences to more players across India and emerging markets,” stated Jobin Joseph, Co-Founder of Arc.
