Last week's survey revealed strong interest in the Honor Robot Phone, particularly for its impressive camera and AI functionalities. While we temporarily set aside discussions about its availability (currently limited to China), the phone's pricing remains a significant concern.
Many observers are intrigued by the innovative design, and if Honor decides to continue developing this technology, future iterations could attract an even larger audience. The current model has certainly succeeded in capturing attention, but many potential buyers are hesitant to invest due to its high price tag.
Honor Robot Phone's gimbal in action
The standout feature for many potential buyers is undoubtedly the camera; the integrated gimbal offers capabilities that traditional smartphones cannot provide. This unique aspect could be particularly appealing to content creators in search of advanced filming options.
While there is some interest in the AI features aimed at transforming the device into an AI-powered robot, most view this as a novelty rather than a necessity.
However, there are skeptics who question the practicality of this concept, particularly regarding the longevity of the phone's moving components. On a positive note, Honor has hinted that the upcoming Magic9 series, set to debut next month, will feature some of the advanced Arri capabilities found in the Robot Phone. These enhancements include native Log-C3 video encoding, LUT color grading, and a dedicated cinema mode that mimics the characteristics of Arri cinema cameras.
While the Magic9 lineup won't include gimbals, this can be easily remedied with external stabilizers like the DJI Osmo Mobile.
