Garmin has officially announced the launch of its latest smartwatch offerings, the Fenix 9 and Fenix 9 Pro. These models highlight Garmin's commitment to innovation with cutting-edge features and technology tailored for outdoor enthusiasts and fitness aficionados.
The Fenix 9 features a durable fiber-reinforced polymer case complemented by a titanium rear cover. It sports a screen that boasts double the brightness compared to its predecessor, shielded by a sapphire crystal. Built for durability, it is dive-rated up to 40 meters and features leak-proof buttons. This model also triples the RAM available in the Fenix 8 and introduces a more efficient mapping engine that delivers 30% faster panning. Additionally, users will find 64GB of storage, which is twice that of the previous model.

The Fenix 9 comes in three sizes—43mm, 47mm, and 51mm—and introduces a feature called Garmin Epic, which compiles activities recorded over extended periods into a cohesive "Epic". This feature allows users to track their health and performance metrics, add photos, and share their achievements with friends. Further functionality includes improved insights for indoor rowing, an expanded set of rucking features, and enhanced stamina tracking, complete with stamina zones and curves.
The Fenix 9 Pro enhances all these features with a fresh design, featuring a remarkable 3,000-nit peak brightness display and a 1.5-inch screen on the 51mm model. Select Pro models can offer solar charging capabilities, which provide weeks of battery life. The Fenix 9 Pro also includes inReach connectivity, enabling LiveTrack notifications via LTE, Garmin Locate functionalities, and direct weather updates. Furthermore, users can access emergency assistance from Garmin's 24/7 staffed Response coordination center if required.
