Introduction
In the fast-paced world of smartphones, Samsung continues to innovate and expand its lineup. Just months after the debut of the Galaxy A57, the South Korean tech giant is gearing up to introduce its successor, the Galaxy A58. Furthermore, a new model in the rugged XCover series, the Galaxy XCover FR, is also in development. Let’s explore what we know so far about these upcoming devices.
Samsung recently launched the Galaxy A57 in March, and details from the GSMA Association's database reveal that the company is already hard at work on its successor, the Galaxy A58. While information is still sparse, the device has been assigned the model number SM-A586x, with the final character indicating the market of release. The model listed in the GSMA database is the SM-A5860, specifically for the Chinese market.
In addition to the Galaxy A58, the GSMA database indicates that Samsung is also developing the Galaxy XCover FR, which carries the model number SM-G778x. The version identified in the database as SM-G778B is intended for Europe and other global markets. This is particularly timely as the last XCover model, the Galaxy XCover 7 Pro, made its entrance in 2025, signaling an increased demand for an updated rugged smartphone.
