Anticipation is building for Apple's latest innovation, the HomePad, a smart speaker featuring a display that is set to launch later this year. Originally dubbed Home Hub by some, this new device promises to blend smart home control with advanced multimedia capabilities.

The recent release of macOS 26.7 beta has unveiled significant details about the HomePad, which will run a customized version of tvOS. Interestingly, this device is designed to function similarly to a larger version of the Apple Watch.

The HomePad's user interface will showcase a "Faces" feature along with a "Face Gallery," resembling the customizable watch faces available on the Apple Watch but optimized for a larger screen. Users can expect to personalize their HomePad with various widgets and Smart Stacks, with the added ability to integrate iPhone app widgets seamlessly.

Privacy remains a priority for Apple; the HomePad will display personal information on widgets only when an iPhone is in close proximity. Additionally, sources suggest that the HomePad will be offered in two versions: one with a speaker base and the other designed for wall mounting.
