Introduction: The latest smartphone from Tecno, the Pova 8 Pro, is generating buzz as it gears up for its debut in India later this week. While the official launch date is set for August 21, tech enthusiasts can already explore the device on Flipkart ahead of its release. With impressive features and competitive pricing, the Pova 8 Pro is poised to make a significant impact in the market.
The Tecno Pova 8 Pro was initially unveiled last week, with Tecno announcing its launch in India set for August 18—however, the phone itself is not available just yet.
Sales for the smartphone will commence on August 21 (Friday) through a partnership with Flipkart. Customers can visit the store page to set notifications for the phone's release. The Tecno Pova 8 Pro will be available in two configurations: the 8/256GB model priced at ₹50,000, and the 12/512GB variant priced at ₹55,000. An enticing ₹3,000 instant cashback and no-cost EMI options up to 18 months will be available for buyers.
The Tecno Pova 8 Pro is offered in three colors: Tundra Green, Graphite Black, and Arc White.
Powered by the Dimensity 7400 Ultimate chip along with a P1 Graphic Chip, the Pova 8 Pro features a 5,000mm² vapor chamber to maintain optimal temperature during usage.
On the camera front, it houses a 50MP main camera supported by a 1/1.56” Sony Lytia 700C sensor with an f/1.8 lens equipped with optical image stabilization (OIS), alongside an 8MP ultra-wide camera. A standout feature is its circular dot matrix display made up of 177 LEDs, employed for notifications and progress reporting—allowing users to track file transfers and customize responses in 49 different scenarios.
The smartphone also includes a customizable shortcut button that can activate silent mode, launch the camera, turn on the LED light, initiate recordings, and access Tecno’s AI assistant. It runs on HiOS 16 based on Android 16 and will support two additional Android updates in the future.
With a sleek profile measuring 7.4mm in thickness and weighing 189g, the Pova 8 Pro is equipped with a robust 6,500mAh battery supporting 45W wired charging (reaching 50% in just 28 minutes). The battery is designed to endure 2,000 charge cycles, translating to around five years of usage. Additionally, the device is rated IP69K for exceptional resistance to high-temperature water jets, and the display is safeguarded by Gorilla Glass 7i.
Note: The Tecno Pova 8 Pro will also feature a limited edition 5G model in collaboration with Tonino Lamborghini, although the availability of that version has yet to be announced.
