Samsung is gearing up for an exciting year ahead in 2024, as insiders reveal plans for the launch of five new foldable devices. Following the success of the Galaxy Z Fold8, which saw a production increase of 1 million units, the tech giant aims to expand its foldable lineup with innovative designs that cater to diverse consumer needs.

According to ETNews, the upcoming Galaxy Z9 generation will consist of five distinct models. These include the following:

1. Z Fold9 (wide foldable)
2. Another wide foldable
3. Z Fold9 Ultra
4. Z Flip9
5. Galaxy Z TriFold (new edition)

Contrary to rumors suggesting the demise of the Z Flip series, the Z Flip remains in the lineup while the entry-level Z Flip FE has been cancelled due to uncertainties regarding demand and rising component costs.

The current Z Fold8 model features a 4:3 aspect ratio for its inner display (measuring 2,448 x 1,848 pixels), making it an excellent choice for various tasks. However, Samsung's plans include another wide foldable optimized for video consumption, catering to the 21:9 cinematic aspect ratio commonly used in films and shows, thereby enhancing the viewing experience.

While details surrounding this new wide foldable remain scarce, it is reportedly still in the conceptual stage. Samsung aims to provide users with a screen tailored for a more immersive video experience, which greatly differs from the current format used in their devices.
