In a move aimed at enhancing the capabilities of Siri AI, Apple is reportedly seeking to establish substantial content agreements with online publishers. These deals could reach nine figures, allowing Siri to provide users with more accurate and timely information on current events.
According to sources, Apple has introduced a tiered compensation structure where payments will be made to publishers only when their content is utilized within Siri AI’s framework.
This proactive strategy is part of Apple's effort to avoid legal disputes over content usage, a concern that has been prominent in discussions surrounding AI advancements. Recently, several publishers have taken legal action against companies such as OpenAI and Microsoft for similar issues.
In contrast, some other organizations have opted to collaborate with AI providers, acknowledging the potential financial benefits of partnership over prolonged legal battles that could hinder revenue opportunities.
This isn't Apple’s first foray into this territory; the tech giant has previously collaborated with publishers via Apple News+, and has also made deals to access publisher content for AI training needs.
