Apple is considering a significant redesign of its smartwatch range, which could bring about new styles, sizes, and innovative features. Among the potential additions is a unique screenless fitness tracker, aimed at competing with current market leaders. Furthermore, the tech giant is contemplating budget-friendly alternatives in addition to the existing Apple Watch SE series.

According to a report by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman in his latest Power On newsletter, Apple's industrial design team has dedicated the past year to revisiting the entire Apple Watch portfolio.

The original Apple Watch

The report indicates that a screenless fitness tracker is among the devices being evaluated, intended to rival wearables like the Whoop and Google's new Fitbit Air.

Additionally, Apple is reportedly considering a variety of smartwatches featuring different types of displays and various size options. Although the incorporation of a round display has been explored, Gurman mentions that it is not very likely to be released.

Moreover, there is talk of expanding the Apple Watch lineup with new premium models alongside affordable options. Gurman also suggests that a return of the ceramic Apple Watch case could be on the horizon, either later this year or sometime in 2027. New colors and band styles are also being developed to enhance personalization.
