Xiaomi is developing its next foldable smartphone, tentatively named the Xiaomi Mix Fold 5. It has reportedly received certification for sale in China from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) under the model number 2608BPX34C.
The device is anticipated to feature a wider form factor compared to its predecessors, resembling the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and iPhone Ultra. The foldable display is expected to measure 7.6 inches diagonally and be powered by Xiaomi's latest Xring O3 SoC, the successor to the original Xring O1 released last year.
The Mix Fold 5 is rumored to launch with Android 17, featuring HyperOS 4 on top. Recent reports suggest it will include a 200MP main camera, a 6,000 mAh battery, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
In addition, the global Redmi Note 17 and Redmi Note 17 Pro Max have also been certified by the NBTC in Thailand, with model numbers 26081RA18G for the standard version and 2609FRA74G for the Pro Max. While the certification does not disclose specifications, previous NCC and Eurofins certifications indicate that the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max will come equipped with a 9,210 mAh battery, support for 100W fast charging, and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

The handset is expected to be available in global markets with four RAM/storage configurations: 8GB/256GB, 8GB/512GB, 12GB/256GB, and 12GB/512GB. The global Redmi Note 17 is rumored to match its Chinese counterpart, except it might feature a slightly smaller 7,700 mAh battery compared to the 8,000 mAh version in China, which is also slated for release in India. Notably, the Redmi Note 17 is expected to launch in India on August 6.
