A recent report from Bloomberg reveals Apple's plans for a range of new Macs over the next few years. Before the year concludes, the company intends to launch a new entry-level MacBook Pro featuring the M6 chip. This timeline also applies to upcoming iMac releases.
The anticipated MacBook Ultra, equipped with an OLED touchscreen and available in 14" and 16" sizes, is expected to be released between late this year and early next year. This model will operate on either the M5 Pro or M5 Max chips and is currently undergoing testing with macOS 27.1, which is set to launch at the end of October. Consequently, the hardware release will not occur prior to this update.
Additionally, an updated MacBook Air is scheduled for early 2027. Following this, next year will see the introduction of a redesigned entry-level MacBook Pro featuring the M7 chip and a new MacBook Neo powered by the A19 Pro chip. Notably, the MacBook Neo is expected to periodically refresh its color options.
Testing is also underway for a Mac mini with the M5 Pro and base M6 chips, along with Mac Studio models equipped with the M5 Max and M5 Ultra. However, the release timing for these models remains uncertain, largely dependent on the availability of memory chips. Furthermore, a MacBook Air with an OLED display could debut as early as 2028, followed by an OLED iMac.
