Apple has launched the fourth developer beta of iOS 27. A recent report reveals that this update includes code snippets referencing the anticipated foldable iPhone, which is expected to be named the iPhone Ultra.
Macworld uncovered new code in the Battery Health section of iOS 27 Beta 4, pointing to an iPhone equipped with multiple batteries.
The report highlights code strings such as "the batteries in this iPhone are performing as expected" and "the health of the batteries in this iPhone has significantly degraded." Another string notes that "one of the batteries" is identified as a non-genuine Apple component.
To date, Apple has never released an iPhone with multiple batteries. However, the evolving design of the rumored foldable iPhone suggests that it may utilize a dual-battery configuration due to its unique foldable structure.
Indeed, references to Apple’s forthcoming foldable iPhone were also found in the first developer beta of iOS 27.
