Qualcomm is developing a new chipset with the model number SM4875, which is anticipated to be named Snapdragon 4 Gen 6. This will serve as the successor to the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5, launched in May.
The Snapdragon 4 Gen 6 features a CPU configuration similar to its predecessor, comprising two Kryo Gold cores and six Kryo Silver cores. However, the leaked diagram does not reveal the clock speeds.
The chipset debuts the Adreno 6 series GPU, a significant upgrade from the Adreno 4 series utilized in the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5, promising enhanced graphics performance. Additionally, the new System on Chip (SoC) will support dual-channel LPDDR5 RAM at speeds of up to 3,200 MHz, alongside the previous generation’s LPDDR4X support.
For connectivity, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 6 will offer four chip options for OEMs: the WCN3998-2, which supports Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2; the WCN3988, which supports Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1; the WCN6750, which supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2; and the WCN6450, which supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 6.0.
While the official unveiling date for this chipset remains uncertain, it could potentially occur as late as next year, making this leak notably early. We will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
