Google is set to unveil the Pixel 11 series on August 12, which are rumored to be the first devices to utilize a chipset from TSMC’s 2nm fab. The new devices are expected to replace the Samsung modem with a MediaTek alternatives, and leaked prices for the US market have already surfaced.

There are suggestions that the Pro and Pro XL models will alter their base configurations to 12/256GB, which means they will lose 4GB of RAM. The 16GB RAM option will only be available in the 512GB versions.

A standout feature of the Google Pixel 10 Pro is its 16GB of RAM, which is uncommon among flagship smartphones in the US. Samsung offers it only in the 16GB/1TB Galaxy S26 Ultra, and Apple does not provide this configuration either.

The standard Google Pixel 10 offers 12GB of RAM despite not being a Pro model. It features the same Tensor G5 chip (3nm TSMC) and identical 6.3-inch screen size as the 10 Pro. With OnePlus departing the North American market, options outside of Apple, Samsung, Google, and Motorola have become limited. The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro emerges as a unique alternative, featuring the Glyph Matrix (dot matrix display) on its back. It is equipped with a 6.83-inch 144Hz OLED display, Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, and a 5,080mAh battery with 50W wired-only charging. The camera system includes a 50MP main sensor (1/1.56”), a 50MP 3.5x/80mm periscope, and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor.

While Motorola is not an alternative brand, the Motorola Edge (2026) offers a worthwhile choice with a 6.3-inch display similar to the Pixel 10 and the more expensive Galaxy S26 and iPhone 17. This device has an IP69 rating and a 7.2mm thick plastic frame, fulfilling a fast-charging 5,000mAh battery (68W wired, 15W wireless). It features a 10MP telephoto camera for 73 mm shots, alongside the main 50MP sensor (1/1.56”) and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. The selfie camera is also equipped with a 50MP sensor.
