Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 Emerges with HyperOS 4: Release Expected Soon

Source: Date:

The Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 is definitely on the way, with reports suggesting a possible release as early as August 2026. The device has already received certification in China, potentially ahead of the Xiaomi 18 series, indicating an early launch might be imminent. Unlike the Xiaomi 18 family, the Mix Fold 5 does not have to wait for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Elite Gen 6 processor, as it is expected to utilize Xiaomi's in-house Xring O3 SoC, an upgraded successor to last year's O1 model.

Adding to the anticipation, several live images of what appears to be the Mix Fold 5 have surfaced. Although the photos reveal limited information, the device appears under the codename “lhasa,” confirming its identity as the Mix Fold 5. Additionally, the device is shown running an OS version starting with 4.0, which is based on Android 17. This aligns with Xiaomi's trend of releasing a major version of HyperOS alongside significant Android updates. The visuals suggest a design that reflects current HyperOS aesthetics, with minor adjustments to accommodate the glass-infused design principles introduced in Android 17.

In terms of specifications, it is anticipated that the Mix Fold 5 will feature a flexible display measuring between 7.5 to 7.6 inches utilizing “seamless-crease” technology. Along with the in-house chipset, features may include a 200MP main camera, full water resistance, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, and a 6,000 mAh battery with wireless charging capabilities.

However, there are already reports indicating a price point around CNY 10,000, approximately $1,400 for the domestic market, which may cause some concern among potential buyers.
