The RedMagic Astra 2, originally launched in late June in China as the "Gaming Tablet 5 Pro", is now available for users worldwide. The global variant mirrors its Chinese counterpart in both design and hardware specifications.

This tablet features a 9.06-inch LTPO OLED display, boasting a refresh rate of 185Hz and an impressive touch response time with an average sampling rate of 300Hz.
Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, the Astra 2 offers configurations of either 12GB/256GB or 16GB/512GB storage. It also includes a dedicated RedCore R4 gaming chip that enhances framerate stability and facilitates gaming graphics upscaling.
The audio experience is enhanced by dual stereo speakers and dual X-axis linear vibration motors, delivering what RedMagic describes as 4D haptic feedback.

In terms of camera capabilities, the Astra 2 features a straightforward setup, sporting a 13MP rear camera and a 9MP front camera.
An 8,300 mAh battery powers the device, supporting 75W wired fast charging. Notably, it includes two USB-C ports: one high-speed 3.2 Gen 2 and another USB 2.0 port, allowing for convenient charging during gameplay in landscape mode.

The tablet ships with Redmagic OS 11.5, based on Android 16.
Although the official global launch occurs today, sales will not begin until late August. In the meantime, RedMagic offers early bird vouchers that provide priority access to customers ahead of the official sales start, along with an 80W charger for voucher holders.
