The iQOO 16 is expected to debut in September. Although iQOO has not officially announced it yet, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has provided new insights into the device.
In a post on Weibo, DCS indicated that a smartphone equipped with the forthcoming 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro will feature symmetrical dual speakers (1115 series) and an X-axis motor (0916 series). While the device's name wasn't specified in the post, it is widely assumed that DCS was referencing the iQOO 16.
The tipster also revealed that this smartphone is being tested with a primary camera utilizing a 50MP OmniVision OV50Q sensor. Unlike the iQOO 15 Ultra, the flagship model will lack a cooling fan but will include a 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, USB 3.2 port, an "AR film," an IP68/69 rating, and a dedicated graphics chip, potentially the Supercomputing Chip Q4.
iQOO 15In a separate Weibo update, DCS mentioned three smartphones, which are presumed to be the iQOO 16, Neo12, and a device from the Z12 series.
According to DCS, the iQOO 16 will feature an impressive 8,500 mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging. The device will also be capable of wireless charging, although the charging speed remains unspecified.
The other two smartphones will reportedly be powered by 3nm chips. One will have a 9,000 mAh battery, while the other is expected to feature a single-cell 10,000 mAh battery.
The device with the 9,000 mAh battery is believed to be the iQOO Neo12, while the 10,000 mAh model is thought to be from the iQOO Z12 series, likely the Z12 or Z12 Turbo.
Earlier rumors suggested that the iQOO Neo12 would come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC and a 2K display. Additionally, iQOO has been exploring both active and passive cooling solutions for the Neo12.
As we approach their launch, more information about these iQOO smartphones is expected to emerge.
