Chery and JLR reveal the upcoming Freelander 8 interior with massive screen and Huawei tech

The standout feature is undoubtedly the expansive pillar-to-pillar screen that substitutes the conventional instrument cluster. This design approach has already been seen in BMW's latest iX3 and iX5 models. The display boasts an impressive diagonal measurement of 46.3 inches, accompanied by a 15.6-inch center infotainment screen.

The Freelander 8 is also equipped with advanced technology from Huawei and features Qualcomm's upgraded Snapdragon 8397 automotive chip.

Specifically, the SUV includes Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5 system, which utilizes a cutting-edge 896-channel LiDAR.

As previously detailed, the vehicle will house a 60 kWh battery, providing a pure electric range of 221 km and a peak charging power of 350 kW. Additionally, it will feature a range-extender powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, generating 154 hp.

The Freelander 8 is expected to debut on Chinese roads in the latter half of 2026.
