Samsung Clarifies Use of Health Data for AI Training in Samsung Health App

Source: Date:

Last week, some Samsung Health users reported receiving a notice upon opening the app, requesting their consent for the use of their health data in AI training and modeling. While users could withdraw consent, the notice indicated that doing so would result in the deletion of their health data and prevent them from syncing it with their Samsung account. This prompted backlash from users, leading Samsung to issue an in-app clarification.

Samsung clarified that the health data collected for AI training is distinct from the data used for providing Samsung Health services. If users withdraw their consent, the data collected for AI development purposes will be deleted and will no longer be utilized.
