Xiaomi has unveiled exciting details about the Redmi Note 17 Pro, which features a robust 9,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging and 22.5W reverse charging capabilities. Unique to this model is Xiaomi's confidence in its battery technology, leading to a remarkable 5-year battery replacement guarantee.
If the battery capacity drops below 80% within the first four years of ownership, Xiaomi will replace it free of charge. Should the capacity decline below 80% in the fifth year, Xiaomi will enhance it by providing a higher-capacity battery at no cost.
This upgrade may provide users with a 10,000mAh battery, depending on future advancements in battery technology within the same phone dimensions. The guarantee, named the “First Sale Free Five-Year Battery Upgrade Guarantee,” is said to be exclusive to those purchasing the phone during its initial release.

Additionally, Xiaomi highlights enhancements in foreground app optimization, expedited startup times, and other improvements in HyperOS, ensuring smooth performance over five years. Features like wear leveling technology will maintain high read/write speeds and minimize degradation.
In terms of durability, the Redmi Note 17 Pro boasts Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection and has successfully passed a 3m marble drop test. Its IP ratings of IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K confirm its robust resistance to splashes, submersion, and high-pressure water jets.
Furthermore, the phone includes protective features such as flagging potential scam calls and detecting AI face-swapping (deep fakes).
