The international launch of Oppo's Reno16 series has arrived, and we are excited to present our unboxing of the Reno16 Pro. This global version is more akin to the Chinese Reno16 than the Chinese Pro model, featuring a 6.32-inch display instead of a larger 6.78-inch screen.
The global Reno16 Pro resembles its global counterpart, the Reno16, in numerous aspects. However, the differences are more pronounced. It boasts a Dimensity 8550 Super processor, a remarkable 200MP main camera, and comes standard with 12GB of RAM.
In contrast, the Reno16 features a 50MP main camera, a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC, and offers 8GB or 12GB of RAM (only 8GB available in the EU).
Both models showcase the same design, known as the 3D Pop Planet design by Oppo. This innovative look incorporates the industry’s first HoloVerse 3D technology, creating a nebula-inspired effect that alters with changes in light and movement. You can see it in action on our TikTok.
The camera island seamlessly integrates into the rear panel's surface, sloping gently to enhance aesthetics and reduce dust accumulation around the camera’s edges.
Additionally, both phones feature a dedicated AI Snap Key located on the upper left edge. By default, this button captures whatever is in view and saves it to the AI Mind Space. Similar to OnePlus devices, users can customize the button's function to open the camera, activate the flashlight, mute the ringer, or launch a specific app.
A Pair of Nearly Indistinguishable Reno16 Models
Returning to the differences, the Pro model supports a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz, while the Reno16 is limited to 120Hz. However, this variation may only be noticeable during specific gaming scenarios.

Performance-wise, the Oppo Reno16 Pro operates smoothly. Our experience with ColorOS has been positive, despite its similarities to iOS design. Oppo assures users that the Reno16 Pro will maintain its efficiency even after six years of usage.

The Oppo Reno16 Pro is available in two colors, Pop White and Starlight Black, and is offered in configurations of either 12/256GB or 12/512GB. Currently, it is available at a discounted price of €900 until July 31, down from the regular price of €1,100. The device may feature a battery capacity of up to 6,700mAh, though specific markets might receive a slightly reduced capacity.
Included in the box are the phone itself, an 80W charger, a USB-A to USB-C cable, and a clear case.
