Renault has updated the Megane E-Tech, the model that marked its entry into the mainstream market in 2022. The facelift introduces several design enhancements, a more robust motor, and an upgraded battery.
The design has received a complete overhaul at the front while retaining the original headlights. Drawing inspiration from the Scenic E-Tech, it features a redesigned grille and a lower-slung logo positioned below the hood.
New 8-LED diamond-shaped daytime running lights (DRLs) on both ends of the bumper give the Megane E-Tech a wider, more grounded appearance.
The rear lights maintain a full-width design but showcase a new 3D look.
The new-look Megane
Equipped with a larger 67 kWh battery (up from 60 kWh), the facelifted Megane E-Tech boasts a WLTP range of up to 311 miles, surpassing the previous model by 31 miles. Renault opted for a Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) battery type rather than the earlier Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) unit. Although LFP batteries generally have lower energy density and reduced range, they are known for their longer lifespan and enhanced thermal stability.
Renault aimed to strike the optimal balance between price, range, and chargeability.
Charging has become faster, achieving up to 165 kW (previously 130 kW). Consequently, a charge from 15% to 80% takes just 24 minutes. Due to the increased battery size, the new model is 20 mm taller and is available with either 19-inch or 20-inch alloy wheels.
The updated Megane E-Tech remains a front-wheel-drive vehicle, powered by a 220 hp motor (with 300 Nm of torque). The previous “Personal” mode has been replaced with a Smart Mode, which automatically selects between Eco, Comfort, and Sport modes based on driving conditions and inputs. This system aims to optimize performance and efficiency without requiring manual adjustments. Additionally, Renault has introduced a proper MagSafe charger, replacing the basic wireless charger previously offered.

The Megane E-Tech enters a significantly more competitive market than the one faced by its predecessor in 2022. It will contend with various rivals, including models from Renault's own lineup and competitors such as the Peugeot e-308, MG4, and Cupra Born.

Available in two trim levels—Techno and Esprit Alpine—the Techno model includes 19-inch wheels with an option for 20-inch upgrades. The Esprit Alpine features unique 20-inch alloys along with additional visual enhancements. Buyers can choose from seven body colors, including the new Satin Blue Slate, with an optional two-tone configuration featuring a black or grey roof.
The facelifted Megane will be available for purchase later this year. While Renault has not disclosed pricing details, it is expected to fall within the range of €30,000 to €35,000, similar to its predecessor.
