Honor Watch 6 Review: Impressive Features and Battery Life

Source: Date:

Just unveiled, the Honor Watch 6 is a compelling choice for anyone seeking a new wearable. The watch is available in Twilight Brown or Shadow Black (the model we reviewed), with a retail price of €250/£230 (€20/£20 extra for the Brown version). However, for the first month, it is priced at just €170/£150, which offers a significant €80/£80 discount. Honor certainly knows how to attract customers!

In the box, you’ll find the watch itself, a fluororubber strap for the Black model, and a leather strap for the Brown variant (reflecting the price difference). Additionally, a magnetic charger with a USB-A connector is included. Unfortunately, the charger features two pins specifically designed for aligning with the watch, rather than a universal wireless charging puck.

What makes the Honor Watch 6 so enticing? Its remarkable battery, which is just 20mAh shy of 1,000mAh, is impressive for a smartwatch. Thanks to Honor's proprietary MagicOS, the watch can last up to a month with typical use!

However, it's not just the large battery that stands out. The true achievement is that you would never suspect it was there. The Honor Watch 6 feels just like a conventional smartwatch when worn, with a combined weight of just under 68g for the watch and strap.

Despite its weight, it doesn’t feel flimsy or cheap. In fact, it strikes a perfect balance; a 46mm watch should offer a bit of presence on the wrist.

Construction quality is solid, with the front glass appearing flush against the case. Additionally, six slightly elevated index markers on the aluminum bezel offer extra protection in case of a fall.

The design features classic aesthetics, complete with twin lugs at both ends and two buttons on the right side, one of which serves as a rotating crown.

The display is a circular 1.46-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 464x464 pixels and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. Honor’s MagicOS retains the smartphone interface's lightly transparent elements.

For now, that wraps up our initial take. We will provide a comprehensive review of the Honor Watch 6 soon, but with a battery life of 35 days, our testing will require some time!
