In August of last year, during the unveiling of the Pixel 10 family, Google teased a new smart speaker, which it later named the Google Home Speaker in October. After a wait of ten months since the initial teaser and eight months since its announcement, the speaker is finally available.
The Google Home Speaker will be released on June 25, priced at $99.99, and offered in four colors: Jade, Berry, Porcelain, and Hazel. Notably, Jade and Berry are exclusive to the U.S. Pre-orders can already be made through the Google Store.

Powered by an unspecified quad-core CPU that uses Cortex-A55 cores, the Google Home Speaker features 1GB of RAM and 4GB of storage. It includes a 58mm full-range driver for what is described as "omni-directional sound," three far-field microphones, and a hardware mute switch. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4, with the capability to serve as a Thread 1.3 border router. Users can pair up to two speakers with a Google TV Streamer, enabling a mini home theater experience with spatial surround sound, according to Google.
The speaker is equipped with Gemini, which offers ten new natural-sounding voices. Additionally, Gemini Live facilitates engaging, natural conversations. The feature allows users to have Gemini describe current or recent activities from their Nest cameras and provides a summary of events that occurred at home during their absence.
