BMW iX3 Achieves Outstanding Real-World Range in Latest Summer Test

Source: Date:

The Norwegian Automobile Federation (NAF) conducts biannual real-world range tests—one in summer and another in winter. The results from this year's summer test are particularly intriguing.

BMW iX3 topples real-world range test charts beating WLTP estimates

The standout performer was the BMW iX3, achieving a remarkable real-world range of 485 miles, which exceeds its WLTP-rated range by 7 miles. Generally, the WLTP range tends to be more optimistic than the EPA standards used in the US, but the iX3 surpassed expectations by 1.5% compared to the WLTP figure.

In second place was the Lucid Gravity, with a real-world range of 447 miles, falling short by 3.7% of its WLTP rating of 465 miles. The top five was rounded out by the Mercedes CLA, GLC 400, and the Xpeng X9.

While NAF's range test aims to provide accurate real-world results, individual experiences may vary due to factors such as elevation, weather conditions, and driving habits.
