On November 15, 2001, Bill Gates, alongside The Rock, introduced a revolutionary gaming console known as the “Xbox.” This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Xbox brand, and Microsoft is commemorating the occasion with a special edition of the Series X.
The Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition replaces the standard black and white aesthetic with a striking translucent green finish—a nod to the early 2000s, when translucent designs were all the rage.
Additionally, the classic X logo on the console will illuminate in green upon powering up. According to the announcement, owners can also “discover a few hidden surprises throughout.”

Despite its eye-catching new appearance, the console remains a Series X with 1TB of storage—there is no new hardware involved.
In conjunction with the console, Microsoft will also launch the Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition, which features the same translucent green design. The traditional ABXY button colors are preserved.
Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition
The Xbox Series X25 console and Controller X25 will be available as a limited edition bundle this November. For those who already own an Xbox, the Controller X25 Special Edition will be sold separately. Pricing and pre-order details are expected to be announced soon.
