Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 and Fold8 Ultra Dummy Units Compared: Design Revealed

Source: Date:

CAD-based renders of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8, previously known as Galaxy Z Fold8 Wide, first surfaced in March. Recently, a hands-on video showcased a dummy unit of the Fold8, offering a closer look at the wide foldable design. Additional images have emerged, displaying the dummy units of both the Galaxy Z Fold8 and the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra side-by-side.

While these images do not introduce any new features, they provide insight into the design differences between the two models. The taller device, now called Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, is equipped with a triple-camera system on the rear. In contrast, the shorter Galaxy Z Fold8 features a dual-camera setup and boasts a wider folding screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio.

Interestingly, while the rear panels of these smartphones appear whitish in the images, earlier posts by tipster Ice Universe on X displayed the devices in blue. It remains unclear whether this indicates different color options or if the blue appears differently based on lighting conditions.

In related updates, Ice Universe reported that the Galaxy Z Fold8 will feature a 4,800 mAh battery with 45W charging capabilities, weigh 201 g, and incorporate a new 50MP camera with native support for a 24MP mode.
