CAD-based renders of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8, now reportedly renamed from its original title, have been circulating since March. Recently, a dummy unit of the Fold8 was showcased in a hands-on video, providing a closer look at this wide foldable device. Additionally, the smartphone was spotted in the wild, leading to the release of new images featuring side-by-side comparisons of the Galaxy Z Fold8 and the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra.
While these images don’t offer new information, they effectively illustrate the design distinctions between the two models. The taller device, previously known as Fold8 and now rebranded as the Fold8 Ultra, showcases a triple-camera system on its rear. Conversely, the shorter model, named Fold8, is equipped with a dual-camera setup but boasts a wider folding screen with a 4:3 aspect ratio.

Interestingly, both smartphones feature what appears to be whitish rear panels in the images; however, earlier posts by the same source, Ice Universe, indicated that both models could come in blue. The variation in their appearance could be attributed to different lighting conditions or actual color differences.

In other news, tipster Ice Universe has disclosed that the Galaxy Z Fold8 will be powered by a 4,800 mAh battery and will support 45W fast charging. The device will weigh 201 grams and feature a new 50MP camera, which will support native 24MP mode.

Ice Universe also mentioned last week that the display creases on both the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Fold8 Ultra are expected to be as minimal as those present on the Oppo Find N6.
