The upcoming RedMagic 5 Pro tablet is set to launch in China this month, with expectations that it will be branded as the Astra 2 for international markets. This follows the trend of the original Astra being a rebranded Tablet 3 Pro for global distribution, and the discontinuation of the number 4 due to superstition.
Today, the RedMagic Astra 2 has received certification for sale in China from the appropriate authorities, confirming its support for 80W wired charging.

According to the well-known Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the Astra 2 will feature a 9-inch OLED screen with a 185Hz refresh rate, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. It will also include a liquid cooling system, RGB lighting, a transparent design, and an 8,300 mAh battery.
The device is expected to be available in four RAM/storage configurations: 12GB/256GB, 16GB/512GB, 16GB/1TB, and 24GB/1TB. Historically, RedMagic tends to launch its devices internationally shortly after the initial release in China, so we anticipate availability in other markets by the end of this month or possibly in July.
