The fourth entrant in the Xiaomi 17 series, the Xiaomi 17 Max, has officially launched. This model serves as the more understated counterpart to the 17 Pro Max, excluding the secondary rear display but featuring a remarkable 200MP main camera and an enhanced 8,000 mAh Si/C battery.

Xiaomi claims that the 17 Max can sustain over two days of normal usage, with the battery designed to retain up to 80% of its charge after 1,600 charging cycles, equating to more than four years of daily use. When it's time to recharge, the device supports fast charging at up to 100W via cable and 50W wirelessly. Additionally, the 17 Max can deliver up to 22.5W reverse wired charging for other devices.

Underneath its sleek exterior, the 17 Max is powered by Qualcomm's leading Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. It comes with a maximum of 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.
Xiaomi 17 Max key specsIn keeping with its 'Max' designation, the 17 Max features a generous 6.9-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,608 × 1,200 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen can achieve a peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits and houses a 32MP selfie camera within a punch-hole cutout, as well as an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

On the back, the prominent 200MP main camera features Samsung's HP9 sensor, delivering an impressive dynamic range of up to 13.5, along with an ƒ/1.65 aperture and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). Accompanying this is a 50MP 3x telephoto lens capable of macro photography, as well as a 50MP ultrawide lens with a 17mm equivalent focal length.

The device runs on HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 and is fully protected against dust and water with IP68 and IP69 ratings.
