Huawei recently introduced the MatePad Pro Max tablet, and during a HarmonyOS conference in China, the company announced that the device is powered by the Kirin T93 Pro SoC. This revelation is noteworthy as Huawei has often been reticent about the specific chipsets used in its products since the imposition of US sanctions seven years ago.
While details surrounding the Kirin T93 Pro remain sparse, its unveiling is a step towards greater transparency. Speculation from Chinese insiders on Weibo suggests that this chipset could be akin to the Kirin 9030 Pro but without cellular capabilities. The Kirin 9030 Pro is currently employed in Huawei's flagship devices like the Mate 80 Pro Max, Mate 80 RS Ultimate, and Mate X7, indicating potential high performance for the MatePad Pro Max.
At the same conference, Huawei claimed that the MatePad Pro Max has seen a 45% improvement in overall system performance, although they did not clarify the benchmark for this comparison. This enhancement is attributed not only to the SoC but also to an improved heat dissipation system and the features of HarmonyOS 6, alongside a robust HarmonyOS ecosystem.
