Lenovo reenters the smartphone market with its latest offering, the Legion Y70 (2026). This marks the brand's first phone release under its own name since the Y90 in 2022.

Leading up to this announcement, numerous teasers revealed most of the Legion Y70's specifications. Designed as a gaming phone, it boasts remarkable features, including an extraordinary 8,000mAh battery and 90W fast charging support, alongside bypass charging capabilities.

Under the hood, the Legion Y70 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 (non-Elite) SoC, coupled with options for either 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, capable of speeds up to 9,600Mbps. It comes equipped with 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage, ensuring quick performance.

The device's cooling system utilizes a 5,500mm² vapor chamber, effectively reducing the CPU core temperature by up to 7°C.

The battery capacity is truly impressive, featuring an 8,000mAh battery that supports 90W charging and is equipped for bypass charging. Lenovo claims users can expect up to two days of usage, with the battery remaining efficient for seven years or 1,200 charging cycles.

On the display front, the Y70 features a 6.8-inch OLED screen with a high refresh rate of 144Hz, boasting a peak brightness of 7,000 nits and supporting Dolby Vision.

Photography capabilities include a 50MP wide-angle lens (1/1.56-inch) with an f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide lens capable of capturing close-ups from 2.5cm, and a 32MP front-facing camera for selfies.

Lenovo is currently accepting pre-orders for the Legion Y70, starting at CNY 3,099 (approximately €390, GBP 340, $450, or INR 44,000). Buyers can choose from two colors, Ice Soul White and Carbon Black, and various configurations including 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB, 16GB/512GB, and 1TB/512GB.
