Sony has announced a live event scheduled for 4 PM UTC to unveil its latest flagship WH-1000X headphone series. The previous generation, the WH-1000XM6, launched approximately a year ago, but this new release is not a direct successor.
Current rumors suggest that the upcoming headphones will be positioned as a more premium option, existing alongside the XM6 rather than replacing it.
Reports indicate a price of $649, slightly higher than the typical WH-1000X headphones, along with a new leather design. The forthcoming model is expected to be named ColleXion.
In addition to the updated aesthetic, the ColleXion is likely to feature an array of premium functionalities and enhanced hardware. Sony's emphasis on this release is evident, as the company has dedicated an entire event to showcase its new flagship headphones.
