The entry-level Standard trim starts at €41,390. In its base form, this rear-wheel-drive version offers an estimated driving range of 555 km. Buyers seeking better traction can opt for the all-wheel-drive upgrade for an additional €3,000. However, selecting all-wheel drive reduces the estimated range to 531 km and allows for the addition of a tow package for an extra €811.

For those looking for more features, the Premium trim starts at €46,090 and comes with all-wheel drive as a standard feature. Early reservation holders can also access the Performance trim with the Launch Package priced at €49,500. This special package includes several options like the Autonomy+ software, the tow package, a unique key fob, and exclusive access to the Launch Green exterior color. A fully equipped Performance trim with all options can reach a total price of €53,559.

Customizing the R2's exterior incurs additional costs and varying delivery times. Silver is the only standard paint color at no extra charge, while other paint options range between €900 and €1,700. Some colors, like Forest Green, will not be available until late 2026, and the Borealis purple, exclusive to the Performance trim, will be offered starting in 2027—a unique strategy that requires buyers to wait for certain hues.

The cabin features a standard Dark interior theme, while a lighter scheme called Coastal Cloud can be ordered for an additional €900 later this year, applicable to all trims except the base Standard. Wheel options vary by trim, with the Standard model featuring 19-inch wheels, and the chance to upgrade to 20-inch bi-color carbon wheels for €900. Premium trim comes with 20-inch wheels as standard and offers an upgrade to 21-inch Liquid Tungsten wheels for €1,700.

The Performance trim features standard 21-inch wheels, with an optional swap to 20-inch Black Sand wheels equipped with 32-inch BF Goodrich all-terrain tires for €900. Additionally, Rivian offers a compact spare tire package for €644, which includes a jack and wheel chocks, with a designated storage spot under the rear floor—an increasingly rare feature among modern SUVs.

Technology upgrades include the Autonomy+ package, priced at €2,100. However, Rivian currently does not equip these vehicles with LiDAR sensors and has no plans for a hardware retrofit. Production of the Rivian R2 commenced roughly three weeks ago at its primary assembly plant in Normal, Illinois. Company executives have confirmed that the production line is operating efficiently, projecting a production volume of 20,000 to 25,000 vehicles by the end of 2026. A second assembly plant in Georgia is also in development, with a target capacity of 300,000 vehicles annually.
