Today, Spotify announced a complete redesign of its tablet interface for both Android tablets and iPads. The updated app is purpose-built for tablets, aimed at making listening, viewing, and discovery more intuitive on larger screens, as stated in the official press release.

Spotify has redesigned its tablet app, here's what's new

The new tablet UI moves beyond merely scaling up the phone version. It is designed to maximize the larger screen space, enabling users to browse and discover new favorites alongside their current playlist.

One of the standout features of the redesign is its dynamic UI, which adapts as users switch between portrait and landscape modes—it doesn't simply resize. This update ensures that the experience feels balanced and intentional in both orientations. Additionally, the new sidebar enhances browsing and discovery while listening, offering interactive, scrollable content that can be expanded or collapsed to suit user preferences.

The prominently placed 'Switch to Video' toggle allows for a seamless transition into a more immersive viewing experience. Although the UI has changed, the core navigation remains consistent, ensuring that the experience feels like a natural extension of the mobile app. The bottom navigation bar is retained for easy access to main pages.
